Tour je u konce - co bude dál?

U2 zakončili včera v noci své aktuální eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour. No a tak jako po skoro po každém tour zavládla mezi fanoušky panika ohledně toho, že se U2 už nikdy nevrátí zpět na pódia, co znamenají svět. Sám Bono před poslední písničkou během berlínského koncertu prohlásil, že: "We've been on the road for quite some time, just going on 40 years, and this last four years have been really something very special for us. We're going away now." Je to jen konec tour nebo je to konec skupiny U2 jako takové?

U2czech.blog.cz se nechal inspirovat stránkou U2songs a rozhodl se (za základě článků a interview se členy skupiny) shnout to, kam asi budou směřovat nejbližší kroky Bona, The Edge, Larryho a Adama.

• Ohledně budoucnosti U2:

1. V květnu se The Edge svěřil Rolling Stone: "I think there's been three tours that have been on each other's heels pretty quickly. I would say that we'll probably take a little bit of a break at the end of this tour and regroup. There's lots of ideas for the next records, but I think a bit of time off just to listen to music and to really feed our creative instincts is in order."
2. Adam v červenci: "This is the end of a four-year cycle of work and we really have no plans going into next year. We have got to the point where this is a full stop at the end of this project. We're looking at next year as being a year of regrouping."
3. Larry pro Sunday Times v červnu: "We'll finish this out and then there will be time to decide what we want to do next. I'd like to take a really long holiday." Na otázku, jestli je to konec: "I don't know. You never know. I assume there'll be another album. I don't know when and I'd like to think we have some time to consider it. I don't know that anybody needs a U2 record or a U2 tour anytime soon. People could do with taking a break from us and vice versa."
4. Adam pro BBC v říjnu: "We've been hard at it for four years now - just constant touring, I think we just need to go away for a little bit and give the audience a break."
5. Willie Williams pro TPI Magazine ohledně nápadů na další tour: "Of course…it would be rude not to! There are 3 ideas in the bag. They are now off the tracks in terms of what a band should be doing and that is that is immensely liberating for all of us."

• Ohledně DVD z The Joshua Tree Tour 2018 a eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018:

1. se zajímavou informací přišla U2start.com: management skupiny údajně požádal crew, co pracovala během tour o to, aby byli připraveni na konci 2019 pro "some special shows". Má údajně jít o stadionové tour po Oceánii (Perth a Sydney).
2. skupina natočila i záznam z The Joshua Tree 2017. Videomateriál se natáčel v San Diegu, 2x v Mexiku a na jiných koncertech v Jižní Americe. V práci je dvorní režisér skupiny Anton Corbijn. Podle informací, které kolují po internetu se nakonec použije videomateriál pouze z koncertů v Mexiku a San Diegu. Mix zvuku je prý kompletně hotový - angažovaný v tom byl starý známý Steve Lillywhite. Kdy DVD výjde? Původně mělo vyjít na konci tohoto roku ovšem život je změna: podle nejnovějších informací od insiderů se videonahrávka objeví nejdříve na jaře 2019 (březen) a bude to něco opravdu velkého. Více už Anton Corbijn pro Berliner Zeitung: "Also, last year, I did a film about U2, which I hope will be released in cinemas in 2019. So I cannot quite leave the music."
3. otázkou zůstává, jak to bude s DVD z uplynulého tour.. Natáčel se materiál z koncertů ve Washingtonu DC (starý známý režisér Hamish Hamilton byl na místě jako poradce) a během evropské části tour byly pořízeny videozáznamy koncertů v Belfastu, Dublinu a posledním koncertu v Berlíně.
